The Art of Intimate Marriage Intensive: A Weeklong Intensive focused on Enhancement, Repair, Renewal, and Refreshment!

 

For some couples, your relationship is steady, but is needing some attention and refreshment. For others, though you feel intimate and connected and your marriage is going well, your sexual relationship can sometimes have some difficulties and you want some help. And still others who take this intensive feel their marriage is experiencing trouble. All couples, regardless of where their marriage is at, are welcome. Though this intensive includes a focus on working through conflict and possible betrayals, it also includes rebuilding friendship, beginning steps on returning to relational intimacy, and building blocks for returning to sexual intimacy, and steps to enhance the intimate marriage relationship at all stages.

 

Format: This is a professional intensive in the following format: Weeklong Retreat Style (Sat-Sat, 3 hours each day, over 7 days) on intimacy and sexuality in marriage. The intensive is led by Dr. Jennifer Konzen, Marriage and Family Therapist and Sex Therapist. This is a smaller group format of 3-15 couples. Each couple will engage in an individual 1.5-hour assessment with Jennifer before the intensive, a one 1-hour session during the intensive, and a one 1-hr followup session after the intensive..

 

The fee for this intensive may be a significant investment for some and should be considered in planning.

We gained tools and insights to help us communicate more effectively through difficult topics. We were given a framework from which to build trust and emotional safety. Unexpectedly, I gained better insight into my own trauma and was better able to process and integrate it after the intensive.

Also, the intensive doesn't necessarily replace couples therapy; for us, it helped us make a more informed decision to pursue it.

We gained resources, practical exercises, and help beginning to dig into some sensitive topics and areas that needed attention. We also gained a whole week away from the hustle and bustle to attend to our relationship in a beautiful setting!


The information presented at the intensive was very helpful, and built greater understanding of ourselves and each other. The exercises and conversations were helpful in putting the knowledge into practice.


Do it! If you can make it happen, and you feel like you need more intensive help, especially in the areas of sexuality or addiction (or both!), it is well worth the time and money.


It’s like a marriage retreat on steroids. All the great stuff that comes out of a marriage retreat (good teaching, time away, time to relax and connect and talk) was present in this intensive, only magnified. We also had a great time getting to know the other couples that were there, and enjoyed the time doing absolutely nothing too! It is so worth the investment!
